IB Security Assistant MT Final Result 2026 Declared Today

The IB Security Assistant MT Final Result 2026 has been officially declared today, May 4, 2026 by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Candidates who appeared for the Security Assistant (Motor Transport) Examination 2025 can now check their final results online. The result is available at the official website mha.gov.in and NCS portal ncs.gov.in.

The Intelligence Bureau had invited online applications for direct recruitment to the post of Security Assistant Motor Transport in various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaus across India. A total of 455 vacancies were announced for this recruitment. The selection process was conducted in two tiers. Tier-I was an online objective type exam held on October 30, 2025. Candidates who qualified Tier-I were called for Tier-II which was a Motor Mechanism and Driving Test cum Interview held in March 2026. Now the final result combining both Tier-I and Tier-II performance has been declared.

IB Security Assistant MT Vacancy Details

The total number of vacancies was 455 posts across 37 Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaus. The category wise breakup was as follows:

Vacancies were available in various SIBs including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal and many other cities across India.

IB Security Assistant MT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates had to meet the following requirements to apply for the post.

Educational Qualification: Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized Board of Education.

Driving License: Possession of a valid driving license for Motor Cars (LMV) issued by the competent authority.

Motor Mechanism Knowledge: The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle.

Driving Experience: Experience of driving a Motor Car for at least one year after obtaining a valid driving license.

Domicile Certificate: Possession of domicile certificate of the state against which the candidate has applied.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on September 28, 2025. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC, and other relaxations as per government rules.

IB Security Assistant MT Selection Process

The selection process had two stages.

Tier-I Online Examination: This was an objective type exam with 100 questions for 100 marks. The exam had five parts: General Awareness, Basic Transport and Driving Rules, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical and Analytical and Logical Ability and Reasoning, and English Language. Each part had 20 questions. The duration was 1 hour. There was negative marking of one fourth mark for each wrong answer.

Tier-II Motor Mechanism and Driving Test cum Interview: This was qualifying in nature with 50 marks. Candidates were required to drive a motor vehicle as instructed. Practical knowledge about the vehicle and removal of minor defects was also tested. The qualifying marks for Tier-II was 20 out of 50.

The final cut-off may have gone higher depending on the marks obtained by candidates and the number of vacancies. Candidates were shortlisted for Tier-II at 10 times the number of vacancies.

IB Security Assistant MT Final Merit List

The final merit list has been prepared based on the combined performance of candidates in Tier-I and Tier-II exams, subject to qualifying in Tier-II. A waiting list has also been prepared for providing replacement in future as per government rules. Final selection is subject to successful completion of character and antecedent verification followed by medical examination.

IB Security Assistant MT Pay Scale and Benefits

Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Level-3 in the pay matrix with Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month. In addition, they will receive special security allowance at 20 percent of basic pay and other admissible central government allowances. Cash compensation is also given in lieu of duty performed on holidays. The post carries all India transfer liability.
