SSC CGL Recruitment 2026 - Overview
Hello friends, the wait is finally over! The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has brought the biggest job opportunity of the year. They have released the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026. This is a golden chance for all graduates who want to work with the Central Government. There are thousands of vacancies for different posts like Assistant, Inspector, Auditor, and many more. The application process is starting soon, so read all the details below carefully and apply before the last date.

Application Fees
The fee is very low, and there is a full fee waiver for female candidates and reserved categories.

Age Limit
The age limit is different for different posts. Please check the post-wise age limit in the official notification. Here are the main age limits:

Minimum Age: 18 years (You must have been born on or before 01-08-2008)

Maximum Age: 27 years, 30 years, or 32 years depending on the post.

For example: For Auditor post, the age limit is 18-27 years.

Post-Wise Qualification
The main requirement for most of these posts is a graduation degree. Some special posts have extra requirements.

Salary Breakdown
The salary for SSC CGL posts is very attractive. It comes with a good pay scale and other allowances like DA, HRA, and Travel Allowance.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in two computer-based exams (Tiers). You have to clear each stage to move to the next one.

Tier-I Examination (Preliminary): This is a computer-based online exam. It is a screening test to shortlist candidates for Tier-II.

Tier-II Examination (Mains): This is also a computer-based exam. It has different papers (Paper-I, II, III) depending on the post you are applying for.

Paper-I (Compulsory for all): Includes Maths, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Test, and Data Entry Test.

Paper-II (For JSO & SI Grade-II): Statistics.

Paper-III (For AAO & AOO): General Studies (Finance & Economics).

Document Verification (DV): Once you clear both Tiers, your documents will be checked by the concerned department. Some posts also have physical and medical tests.

How to Apply for SSC CGL 2026
Follow these simple steps to fill out your application form online. Please read each step carefully.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website
Go to the official SSC website which is https://ssc.gov.in. -
Step 2: One Time Registration (OTR)
If you are a new user, click on "Login or Register". Complete your One-Time Registration (OTR). This is a one-time process. Fill in your basic details like name, father's name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID. -
Step 3: Fill the Online Application Form
Login with your Registration Number and Password. Find the link for "Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026" and click on "Apply". Fill in all the details like educational qualification, address, and choose your exam center. -
Step 4: Upload Documents
This is very important. You must capture a live photograph using the application module (webcam or phone). Do not upload an old photo. Upload your signature in JPEG format (size 10-20 KB). -
Step 5: Pay the Fee
Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit card. If you are a woman or belong to SC/ST/PwBD category, you don't have to pay any fee. -
Step 6: Submit and Print
Before final submission, preview your entire application form. Check all the details very carefully. Then click on "Submit". Finally, take a printout of the application form and payment receipt for your future records.
Important Instructions in Details
Please keep these important points in mind to avoid rejection of your form.

Live Photograph is Mandatory: You cannot upload a scanned copy of an old photo. You must use the application's tool to capture your live picture. If you use an old photo, your application will be rejected (unless you use Aadhaar authentication).

Single Application Only: You are allowed to submit only one online application. If you submit more than one application with different registration numbers, all of them will be rejected.

Aadhaar Authentication: It is better to opt for Aadhaar-based authentication. If you do this, your application will not be rejected for minor issues like a slightly blurred photo.

Last Date is Strict: The online application window closes on 22nd June 2026 at 11:00 PM. Do not wait for the last day. The website gets very slow due to heavy traffic.
