The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the 22nd Edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026. This exam is for candidates who want to become teachers for Classes I to V (Paper I) and Classes VI to VIII (Paper II). The online application process starts from 11th May 2026 and the last date to apply is 10th June 2026. The exam will be held on 6th September 2026 across 132 cities in 27 languages. Certificate Validity: The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for lifetime for all categories. There is no restriction on the number of attempts.

How to Apply for CTET September 2026?

Follow these simple steps to fill your application form online:

  • Step 1: Visit the official CTET website – ctet.nic.in or cbse.gov.in.

  • Step 2: Click on the link "Apply Online" for CTET September 2026.

  • Step 3: Fill in the authentication form with your State, Identity Type, Name, Date of Birth, and Gender.

  • Step 4: Fill the complete online application form. Choose your password and note down the Registration Number/Application Number.

  • Step 5: Upload scanned images of your latest photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format.

    • Photo: Size 10-100 KB, Dimension 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height)

    • Signature: Size 3-30 KB, Dimension 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height)

  • Step 6: Pay the examination fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.

  • Step 7: After successful payment, take a printout of the Confirmation Page for your records.

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Single Application Only: If you submit more than one online application, your candidature will be cancelled.

  • Exam City Allotment: There is no option to choose exam city. CBSE will allot exam city randomly. No change request will be accepted.

  • No Correction After Window: Online correction facility is available only from 15th to 18th June 2026. No correction will be allowed after this date.

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in CTET. Only correct answers will be counted.

  • PwBD Facility: Differently abled candidates get 50 minutes compensatory time and scribe facility as per rules.
