Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be shortlisted (about 5 times the number of vacancies) for Physical Standard Test (PST), Documentation, Basic Vocational Aptitude Test (BVAT) (qualifying only), and Medical Examination (DME/RME). The final select list is drawn based only on written exam marks.
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Written Exam | 100 marks, 2 hours, MCQ, bilingual, no negative marking |
| 2. PST | Height, chest (male), weight measurement |
| 3. Documentation | Verification of original certificates |
| 4. BVAT | Qualifying in nature (no marks) |
| 5. Medical Exam | DME + RME if needed |

Ex-Servicemen who held the rank of Naib-Subedar in Army (or equivalent in Air Force/Navy) with the trade of Pharmacist, X-Ray Technician, or Lab Technician are eligible to apply. For ESM candidates, the period of military service is deducted from their actual age, and the resultant age should not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years. The character on discharge must be Exemplary or Very Good, and the medical category at discharge must be "A" (AYE) or SHAPE-1.

Tattoos are allowed only if they depict religious symbols or the name, placed on the left forearm or dorsum of the hands, and the size is less than √4 of the body part. Final Selection & Merit List
After completing all stages, a category-wise merit list (UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM) will be prepared based only on the marks obtained in the Written Examination. In case of a tie in written exam scores, the tie will be resolved first by giving preference to the older candidate, then the taller candidate, then the higher educational qualification, and finally by alphabetical order of names (English). SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates who are selected on their own merit (without relaxed standards) will be adjusted against UR vacancies, not against reserved quota. No waiting list will be maintained.
| Tie-breaker Priority | Criteria |
|---|---|
| 1st | Older candidate gets preference |
| 2nd | Taller candidate gets preference |
| 3rd | Higher educational qualification gets preference |
| 4th | Alphabetical order of names (English) |
