| Educational Qualification | Minimum Second-Class Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from a recognized university. Candidate must have studied the concerned subject in all years/semesters. PG in concerned subject with graduation in another subject is NOT eligible. |
| B.Ed Requirement | B.Ed (General) degree from NCTE recognized institute is mandatory. Only General B.Ed is acceptable for Classes IX–XII. B.Ed (Special Education) is NOT recognized as an alternative qualification. |
| B.Ed Duration | Minimum 2 years (including mandatory internship). Candidates awarded degree before 2015 are eligible with 1-year course duration. |
