Educational Qualification (for all three posts)

You must have:

1. Bachelor's Degree from a university established by law in India (or equivalent qualification)

2. Diploma/Degree in Computer Science from a recognized institution OR 'O' Level Certificate (NIELIT/DOEACC) OR 'CCC' Certificate

3. Knowledge of Data Entry, Word Processing and Computer Operation

Selection will be done in three stages. There is no interview. You must clear all three stages to get selected.

Stage 1 – Prelims Exam (Objective Type)

• Total Questions: 200 MCQ

• Total Marks: 200

• Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)

Shortlisting Rule: 7 times the number of vacancies in each category will be called for Stage 2 and Stage 3 based on Prelims marks.

Stage 2 – Mains Exam (Subjective Type)

• Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes)

• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50 out of 150

Sections:

Stage 3 – Computer Knowledge Test (CBT)

• Total Marks: 50

• Duration: 20 minutes

Marking for Typing Errors:

• 1 mistake (error) = 0.1 mark deduction

• Left-out words and spelling mistakes = full mistake

Final Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared based on aggregate marks of Stage 2 (Mains) + Stage 3 (Computer Knowledge Test). Stage 1 (Prelims) marks are not added to the final score. Stage 1 is only for shortlisting.

Tie-breaking Rules:

1. Older age candidate gets preference

2. If age is same, higher marks in Stage 2 (Mains) wins

3. If both age and Mains marks are same, higher marks in Stage 1 (Prelims) wins

Important Instructions for Candidates

• No interview will be held. Selection is based purely on written exams and computer test

• No negative marking in Prelims – a great advantage for candidates

• No scribe or extra time for physically handicapped candidates. Visually handicapped can use magnifying glasses

• UP domicile is mandatory for reservation benefits. Without domicile, you will be treated as General category

• Candidates working in Central/State Government must produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of document verification

• Biometric information (photograph, thumb impression, IRIS) will be captured at the exam centre

• Unfair means will lead to cancellation of candidature and possible debarment from future exams

• The recruitment committee has the right to modify the minimum qualifying marks or exam process at any time

What Happens After Selection

Once selected, candidates will undergo document verification, medical fitness test, and character verification. After clearing all stages, they will receive a joining letter for the post of Review Officer, Assistant Review Officer, or Computer Assistant at the Allahabad High Court.

The final merit list is valid for one year or until the next selection, whichever is earlier. Candidates selected for one post (e.g., RO) will not be considered for the other posts (ARO or CA).
